Aburo Screening on the International Day of the Boy Child

On International Day of the Boy Child 2024, Debra’s Palace, in collaboration with Filmone Studios, hosted a special screening of the powerful film “Aburo” for over 40 boys from public secondary schools in Lagos. This moving cinematic portrayal resonates deeply with the struggles and experiences of the average Nigerian boy child, striking a chord with all in attendance.
“Aburo” masterfully depicts the resilience, determination, and pursuit of dreams that define the journeys of so many young men in our society. Through its compelling narrative and authentic character depictions, the film shines a light on the challenges faced by boys navigating the complexities of life in Nigeria. This screening provided a transformative opportunity for the invited students to engage directly with the film’s stars, Efa Iwara and Prince Buchi, as well as the director and producers, fostering empathy, understanding, and empowerment.
