KINGS AWAKE 2: The Third Boy Child Conversation Conference

22 June 23 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Third Boy Child Conversation Conference, held in commemoration of the International Day of the Boy Child, was a resounding success, drawing over 600 secondary school boys to the Glover Memorial Hall in Lagos. Themed “KINGS AWAKE 2,” the conference provided a powerful platform for these young men to explore themes of Purpose, Identity, Influence, and Politics.

The event featured an impressive lineup of mentors and speakers who shared their invaluable experiences and insights with the attendees. Femi Odugbemi, the Executive Director of Zuri 24 Media, delivered the first keynote speech, while Mr. Abayomi Adewumi gave the second.

The conference was structured around two-panel discussions, each addressing critical aspects of the young men’s developmental journey. The first panel, “Navigating Teen-Adulthood,” covered topics such as purpose, identity, clarity, and impact, led by panellists Yomi Molehin, Tunde Onakoya, Bolaji Adeola, and Seun Fakorede.

The second panel session, “Conversations on Self-Development,” equipped the attendees with knowledge on personal branding, goal setting, entrepreneurship, and digital and financial literacy. This discussion was championed by co-panelists Bada Akintunde-Johnson, Bosun Adewale, Patrick Nwokogo, and Femi Bakre.

The event also featured a powerful address by David Folaranmi, who spoke about the adverse effects of drug abuse and shared his personal story. Additionally, Seun Ajayi gave a beautiful performance of his true story, “Dreams from Kagoro.”

The Third Boy Child Conversation Conference was a testament to the power of mentorship, personal development, and empowering young men to become the best versions of themselves.
